Ingredients
- Flank steak - 500 grams
- Lime juice - 60 ml
- Orange juice - 30 ml
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh cilantro - 30 grams, chopped
- Red onion - 1 small, diced
- Radishes - 4, thinly sliced
- Corn tortillas - 4
Steps
- In a bowl, combine lime juice, orange juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring the steak is well-coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably 4 hours.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off.
- Brush the grill with olive oil to prevent sticking and place the steak on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness.
- Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
- Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.
- Warm the corn tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds on each side.
- Serve the sliced carne asada on the tortillas, topped with diced red onion, sliced radishes, and chopped cilantro.
