Ingredients

  • Flank steak - 500 grams
  • Lime juice - 60 ml
  • Orange juice - 30 ml
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 30 grams, chopped
  • Red onion - 1 small, diced
  • Radishes - 4, thinly sliced
  • Corn tortillas - 4

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine lime juice, orange juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring the steak is well-coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably 4 hours.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off.
  4. Brush the grill with olive oil to prevent sticking and place the steak on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness.
  5. Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
  6. Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.
  7. Warm the corn tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds on each side.
  8. Serve the sliced carne asada on the tortillas, topped with diced red onion, sliced radishes, and chopped cilantro.
