Ingredients
- Nopales (cactus paddles) - 2 medium-sized
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Ground black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Shredded mozzarella cheese - 1 cup (100g)
- Salsa - 1/2 cup (120g)
- Cooked ground beef - 150g
- Sliced jalapeños - 2 tablespoons
- Chopped cilantro - 2 tablespoons
- Sour cream - 4 tablespoons
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Rinse the nopales under cold water, then remove the thorns and edges with a knife.
- Slice the nopales into flat, pizza-sized rounds, approximately 1cm thick.
- In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the nopales and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they become tender and slightly translucent.
- Season the nopales with salt and pepper, then remove from the skillet and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread salsa evenly over each nopales slice, then sprinkle cooked ground beef on top.
- Add the shredded mozzarella cheese, jalapeños, and a sprinkle of chopped cilantro over the cheese.
- Drizzle the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over the pizzas.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes before serving with a dollop of sour cream on top.
