Ingredients

  • Cacao nibs - 50g
  • Water - 400ml
  • Almond milk - 200ml
  • Cinnamon stick - 1
  • Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  • Agave syrup - 2 tbsp
  • Pinch of sea salt - to taste

Steps

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the water and cinnamon stick. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add the cacao nibs to the saucepan and let them simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into another pot, discarding the nibs and cinnamon stick.
  4. Return the strained liquid to the saucepan and add almond milk, vanilla extract, agave syrup, and a pinch of sea salt.
  5. Heat the mixture over low heat until warmed through, stirring occasionally to combine the ingredients.
  6. Serve hot in two cups, garnished with a sprinkle of cinnamon or cacao powder if desired.
