Ingredients

  • Ground pork - 400 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Avocado - 1, sliced
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • Romaine lettuce leaves - 4, for wrapping
  • Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 2 equal-sized patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C (160°F).
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the toppings by slicing the avocado, tomato, and red onion.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. To assemble, place each patty in a romaine lettuce leaf and top with avocado, tomato, red onion, and fresh cilantro.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your Burguesa de Puerco!
