- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Avocado - 1, sliced
- Romaine lettuce leaves - 4, for wrapping
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium heat.
- Roast the poblano peppers on the grill, turning occasionally, until the skin is charred and blistered, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and let them cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, diced red onion, minced garlic, cilantro, lime juice, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the turkey mixture into 2 equal patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the turkey patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until fully cooked through and golden brown.
- While the patties are cooking, peel the charred skin off the poblano peppers, remove the seeds, and slice them open.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a cooked turkey patty on a romaine lettuce leaf, topping it with roasted poblano strips and avocado slices.
- Wrap the lettuce around the filling and serve immediately.
