- Whole wheat burger buns - 2 pieces
- Avocado - 1/2, sliced
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Sriracha sauce - 1 teaspoon (optional)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the lime juice, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Add the fish fillets to the marinade and let them sit for 15 minutes.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it.
- Cook the marinated fish fillets for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are cooked through and flaky.
- While the fish is cooking, toast the whole wheat burger buns in the skillet until golden brown.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun and add a layer of sliced avocado.
- Place the cooked fish fillet on top of the avocado, then layer with tomato slices, red onion, and cilantro.
- If desired, drizzle sriracha sauce on top before placing the other half of the bun to complete the burger.
- Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
