Ingredients
- Ground chicken - 400 grams
- Mole sauce - 100 grams
- Whole grain burger buns - 2
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Lettuce leaves - 4
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, salt, black pepper, and half of the mole sauce. Mix well until fully combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked through and golden brown.
- While the patties are cooking, warm the remaining mole sauce in a small saucepan over low heat.
- Once the patties are cooked, place them on the whole grain burger buns. Top each patty with a generous amount of the warmed mole sauce.
- Add sliced avocado, lettuce leaves, tomato slices, red onion, and chopped cilantro on top of the mole sauce.
- Close the burgers with the top half of the buns and serve immediately.
