- Lean ground turkey - 300 grams
- Poblano peppers - 2 medium, roasted and sliced
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Fresh salsa - 1/2 cup
Steps
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, roasted poblano peppers, chopped onion, minced garlic, cilantro, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal patties.
- Heat olive oil in the skillet or grill pan. Cook the patties for 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 75°C).
- While the patties are cooking, toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Once the patties are cooked, assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, topping with sliced avocado and fresh salsa.
