Ingredients

  • Ground turkey - 250 grams
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Avocado - 1/2, sliced
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
  • Lettuce leaves - 2

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground turkey, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, black pepper, cilantro, and lime juice. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
  3. Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add a little oil if desired, and cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).
  4. While the patties are cooking, toast the whole wheat burger buns in another skillet or in a toaster until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a turkey patty on each bun, followed by avocado slices, tomato, red onion, and lettuce.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite side or enjoy on its own.
