- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Avocado - 1/2, sliced
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
- Lettuce leaves - 2
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the ground turkey, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, black pepper, cilantro, and lime juice. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add a little oil if desired, and cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).
- While the patties are cooking, toast the whole wheat burger buns in another skillet or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a turkey patty on each bun, followed by avocado slices, tomato, red onion, and lettuce.
- Serve immediately with your favorite side or enjoy on its own.
