  • Oats - 50 grams
  • Chopped onion - 50 grams
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Cilantro (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato slices - 1 medium
  • Avocado slices - 1 small

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, mash the cooked chickpeas with a fork until slightly chunky.
  2. Add peanut butter, oats, chopped onion, minced garlic, cilantro, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and lime juice to the mashed chickpeas.
  3. Mix until well combined and form the mixture into two patties.
  4. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  6. Toast the whole wheat burger buns lightly on the skillet for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by the peanut patties, tomato slices, and avocado slices.
  8. Top with the other half of the bun, serve immediately, and enjoy!
