- Ground halal beef - 300 grams
- Avocado - 1 medium, ripe
- Lime - 1, juiced
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Burger buns - 2, whole wheat preferred
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/2 small, thinly sliced
- Lettuce - 2 leaves, shredded
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the ground halal beef, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and shape into two patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach the desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the avocado mixture. In a bowl, mash the avocado and mix in lime juice, chopped cilantro, and a pinch of salt.
- Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
- Toast the burger buns in the same skillet until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading the avocado mixture on the bottom bun, placing the beef patty on top, and adding tomato slices, red onion, and shredded lettuce before topping with the other half of the bun.
