- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Oregano - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Pickled jalapeños - 2 tablespoons, sliced
- Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large (for buns)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the ground pork, garlic powder, cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, black pepper, oregano, olive oil, and lime juice. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Form the mixture into two patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the toppings by slicing the avocado, red onion, and jalapeños. Chop the cilantro.
- Once cooked, remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes.
- To assemble, place each patty between two large romaine lettuce leaves. Top with avocado slices, red onion, chopped cilantro, and pickled jalapeños.
