  • Egg whites - 4 large
  • Almond flour - 100 grams
  • All-purpose flour - 50 grams
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 50 grams
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Oil for frying - as needed

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whip the egg whites until soft peaks form.
  2. In another bowl, combine almond flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the whipped egg whites, adding water as needed to create a smooth batter.
  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Once the oil is hot, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
  6. Fry the bunuelos until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar before serving.
