Ingredients
- Yuca - 300 grams
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Egg - 1 large
- Cornstarch - 50 grams
- Vegetable oil - for frying
Steps
- Peel the yuca and cut it into chunks. Boil in salted water for about 15 minutes or until tender.
- Drain the yuca and let it cool for a few minutes. Then, mash it in a bowl until smooth.
- Add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, chopped cilantro, and the egg to the mashed yuca. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
- Gradually add cornstarch to the mixture until it holds together and is not too sticky.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, form small patties from the yuca mixture and gently place them in the oil.
- Fry the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce.
