  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella) - 100 grams
  • Lettuce (shredded) - 1 cup
  • Avocado (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Sour cream - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh cilantro (chopped) - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a large bowl, combine shrimp, olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and lime juice. Toss until shrimp are well coated.
  3. Spread the shrimp mixture on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  4. While the shrimp are baking, prepare your tostada base by using low-carb tortillas or cabbage leaves. If using tortillas, bake them in the oven for 5 minutes until crispy.
  5. Once the shrimp are done, assemble the tostadas by layering shredded lettuce, baked shrimp, and shredded cheese on top of the tortillas or cabbage leaves.
  6. Return the assembled tostadas to the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes to melt the cheese.
  7. Remove from the oven, top with avocado slices, a dollop of sour cream, and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
