Ingredients

  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Shredded cheddar cheese - 100 grams
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lime wedges - 2 for serving

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Cut the pork belly into 2.5 cm x 2.5 cm pieces, ensuring that you include the skin to make the chicharrones.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cumin.
  4. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the pork belly pieces.
  5. Place the pork belly pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they are not touching.
