- black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- water - 150 ml
- oil - for frying
- corn tortillas - 4 pieces
- cabbage - 100 grams (shredded)
- avocado - 1 (sliced)
- cilantro - 10 grams (chopped)
- lime - 1 (cut into wedges)
- vegan mayo - 2 tablespoons
- chipotle in adobo sauce - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Gradually add water to the dry ingredients, whisking until a smooth batter forms.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat for frying.
- Dip the shredded jackfruit into the batter, ensuring it's well-coated, then carefully place it in the hot oil.
- Fry the jackfruit for about 4-5 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- In a small bowl, mix the vegan mayo with the chipotle in adobo sauce to create the chipotle crema.
- Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
- Assemble the tacos by placing crispy jackfruit on the tortillas, topping with shredded cabbage, avocado slices, and chopped cilantro.
