Ingredients
- Ground beef (80% lean) - 300 grams
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Lettuce leaves (large, for wrapping) - 4-6 leaves
- Pico de gallo (fresh salsa) - 1/2 cup
- Chipotle mayo - 2 tablespoons
- Lime - 1, cut into wedges
- Cilantro (fresh, chopped) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, then form into two equal-sized patties.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the pico de gallo if not using store-bought. Combine diced tomatoes, onion, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Once cooked, remove patties from the heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
- To assemble, place a patty on a lettuce leaf, top with sliced avocado, a generous spoonful of pico de gallo, and a drizzle of chipotle mayo. Wrap the lettuce around the filling, securing it like a taco.
- Serve with lime wedges on the side for an extra zing.
