Ingredients
- Ground beef - 300g
- Avocado - 1 large, ripe
- Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Lime - 1, juiced
- Garlic powder - 1 tsp
- Cumin - 1/2 tsp
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Olive oil - 1 tbsp
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large for wraps
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Jalapeño - 1 small, sliced (optional)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well blended.
- Form the mixture into 2 equal-sized patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the avocado topping by mashing the avocado in a bowl. Add lime juice, chopped red onion, cilantro, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
- Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
- To assemble the burgers, place each beef patty on a large lettuce leaf, top with the avocado mixture, tomato slices, and jalapeño if using. Wrap the lettuce around the filling and secure with a toothpick if needed.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your low-carb Mexican Avocado Burger!
