Ingredients

  • Ground beef (lean) - 250 grams
  • Avocado - 1 medium, ripe
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/2 small, thinly sliced
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lime - 1, juiced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, making them slightly larger than the burger buns.
  3. Heat a grill or pan over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
  4. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  5. While the patties are cooking, prepare the avocado spread by mashing the ripe avocado in a bowl. Add lime juice, salt, and chopped cilantro, and mix well.
  6. Toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill or in the oven until lightly golden.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of the bun, followed by the cooked beef patty, sliced tomato, red onion, and a generous spread of the avocado mixture.
  8. Top with the other half of the bun, serve immediately, and enjoy your healthy Avocado Beef Burger.
