Ingredients

  • Dried hibiscus flowers - 30 grams
  • Water - 1 liter
  • Agave syrup or honey - 2 tablespoons (30 ml)
  • Fresh lime juice - 2 tablespoons (30 ml)
  • Ice cubes - as needed
  • Lime slices - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a saucepan, bring 1 liter of water to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, add the dried hibiscus flowers and reduce the heat to a simmer.
  3. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.
  4. Remove from heat and strain the liquid into a pitcher, discarding the hibiscus flowers.
  5. Stir in the agave syrup or honey and fresh lime juice until well combined.
  6. Chill the agua fresca in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes.
  7. Serve over ice cubes in glasses and garnish with lime slices.
