- Chicken breast - 250 grams
- Zaatar spice blend - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic clove - 1, minced
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Cucumber - 1, sliced
- Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Plain Greek yogurt - 100 grams
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
Steps
- In a bowl, mix the chicken breast with zaatar, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium heat.
- Cook the marinated chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 75°C.
- While the chicken is cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and chopped parsley in a small bowl. Season with salt to taste.
- Toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked chicken on the bottom half of each bun. Top with sliced tomato, cucumber, and red onion.
- Spread the yogurt sauce generously on the top half of the bun and place it over the assembled burger.
- Serve immediately with a side of fresh salad or baked sweet potato fries.
