Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 250 grams
  • Zaatar spice blend - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic clove - 1, minced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1, sliced
  • Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Plain Greek yogurt - 100 grams
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the chicken breast with zaatar, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium heat.
  3. Cook the marinated chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 75°C.
  4. While the chicken is cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and chopped parsley in a small bowl. Season with salt to taste.
  5. Toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked chicken on the bottom half of each bun. Top with sliced tomato, cucumber, and red onion.
  7. Spread the yogurt sauce generously on the top half of the bun and place it over the assembled burger.
  8. Serve immediately with a side of fresh salad or baked sweet potato fries.
