Ingredients
- Chickpeas - 200 grams (cooked)
- Oats - 50 grams (rolled)
- Zaatar spice - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves (minced)
- Onion - 1 small (finely chopped)
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Tahini - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 2 tablespoons
- Burger buns - 2 pieces
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Tomato - 1 medium (sliced)
- Cucumber - 1/2 medium (sliced)
Steps
- In a food processor, combine the cooked chickpeas, oats, zaatar, minced garlic, chopped onion, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Blend until the mixture is well combined but still chunky.
- Form the mixture into 2 burger patties and place them on a plate.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the tahini sauce by mixing tahini and water in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust consistency with more water if needed.
- Once the patties are cooked, assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a burger patty, sliced tomato, and cucumber.
- Drizzle the tahini sauce over the top, then close the burger with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately.
