Ingredients
- Chickpeas - 200 grams (cooked)
- Seaweed flakes - 2 tablespoons
- Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh dill - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chickpea flour - 3 tablespoons
- Olive oil - for frying
Steps
- In a large bowl, mash the cooked chickpeas with a fork until mostly smooth, leaving some chunks for texture.
- Add the seaweed flakes, chopped red onion, minced garlic, parsley, dill, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the mashed chickpeas. Mix well to combine.
- Gradually add the chickpea flour to the mixture, stirring until it binds together. If the mixture is too wet, add a little more flour.
- Form the mixture into small oval-shaped koftas, about 2 inches long.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the koftas in the skillet, cooking them for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Once cooked, transfer the koftas to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve warm with tahini sauce or a fresh salad.
