Ingredients

  • Fresh tuna fillet - 200 grams
  • Fine bulgur wheat - 100 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Mint leaves - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Pine nuts - 30 grams, toasted
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Allspice - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Water - 200 milliliters

Steps

  1. Soak the fine bulgur wheat in 200 milliliters of water for about 20 minutes until soft, then drain any excess water.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the soaked bulgur, finely chopped onion, parsley, mint, toasted pine nuts, cumin, allspice, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Finely chop the fresh tuna fillet and add it to the bulgur mixture, then drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into small oval patties or kebbeh forms, about 5 cm long.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little olive oil. Cook the kebbeh patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Serve warm with a side of tahini sauce or yogurt and a fresh salad.
