Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 400 grams
  • Sumac - 2 teaspoons
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • Tahini - 3 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 1-2 tablespoons (to thin tahini sauce)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, sumac, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the beef mixture into 2 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 2 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the tahini sauce by whisking together tahini, lemon juice, and enough water to achieve a pourable consistency.
  5. Toast the burger buns lightly in another skillet or in the oven until golden.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun, then layering with sliced tomato, cucumber, and red onion. Drizzle with tahini sauce before closing the burger.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
