Ingredients

  • lean ground beef - 300 grams
  • garlic cloves - 2, minced
  • ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt - 1 teaspoon
  • fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • fresh mint - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • skewers - 4 (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, black pepper, salt, chopped parsley, and chopped mint.
  2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined and the spices are evenly distributed.
  3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a sausage-like shape around the skewers.
  4. Preheat the grill or BBQ to medium-high heat and brush the grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
  6. While grilling, brush the sausages with lemon juice for added flavor.
  7. Once cooked, remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  8. Serve the Sujuk hot with a side of fresh salad or whole-grain pita bread.
