Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 300 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chickpea flour - 4 tablespoons
  • Water - 2 tablespoons (or as needed)
  • Oil - for frying

Steps

  1. Peel and grate the potatoes into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, and chopped parsley to the bowl with the grated potatoes.
  3. Sprinkle the cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and black pepper over the mixture.
  4. Add the chickpea flour and water, mixing everything together until well combined. The mixture should be firm enough to hold together; add a little more water if needed.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, scoop spoonfuls of the potato mixture into the skillet, flattening them slightly to form fritters.
  6. Fry the fritters for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the fritters from the skillet and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  8. Serve warm with tahini sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
