- Canned chickpeas - 400 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Ground turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lemon - 1, juiced
- Pita bread - 2 pieces, for serving
Steps
- Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water to remove excess sodium.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Stir in the chickpeas and cook for 3-4 minutes until heated through.
- Sprinkle the ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, turmeric, salt, and black pepper over the chickpeas. Stir well to coat.
- Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chickpeas are slightly crispy and golden.
- Remove from heat and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the chickpeas. Toss in the chopped parsley.
- Serve warm with pita bread on the side.
