Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 300 grams
  • Yogurt - 100 grams
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced

  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pita bread or burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
  • Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Tahini or garlic sauce - for serving

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix yogurt, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Cut the chicken breast into large chunks and add it to the marinade. Mix well, cover, and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and thread the chunks onto skewers.
  5. Grill the chicken skewers for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through and slightly charred.
  6. While the chicken is grilling, prepare the pita bread or burger buns by toasting them lightly on the grill.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing grilled chicken on the bottom half of the pita or bun, adding slices of tomato, cucumber, red onion, and chopped parsley.
  8. Drizzle with tahini or garlic sauce, then top with the other half of the pita or bun. Serve immediately.
