- Pita bread - 2 pieces (for buns)
- Tahini - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Cucumber - 1/2, diced
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Pickles - 4 slices
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, shawarma spice mix, salt, black pepper, and minced garlic. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked to your desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the garlic tahini sauce by whisking together tahini, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl until smooth.
- Toast the pita bread lightly in a separate pan or oven until warm.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a beef patty on each pita bread. Top with diced cucumber, tomato, red onion, chopped parsley, and pickles.
- Drizzle the garlic tahini sauce generously over the toppings, fold the pita around the filling, and serve immediately.
