Ingredients

  • Ground lamb or beef - 300 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped

  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
  • Tahini - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, cinnamon, paprika, salt, black pepper, and parsley. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Shape the mixture into two patties of equal size, about 2 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the tahini sauce by mixing tahini and lemon juice in a small bowl. Add a little water to achieve a smooth, pourable consistency.
  5. Warm the pita bread in a separate skillet for about 1 minute on each side.
  6. Once the patties are cooked, assemble the burgers by placing each patty inside a warm pita. Top with sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, and drizzle with tahini sauce.
