Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - 100 milliliters
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Feta cheese - 100 grams, crumbled
- Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
- Parsley - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
- Oil for frying - as needed
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water and olive oil, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the crumbled feta, shredded mozzarella, chopped parsley, and black pepper until combined.
- Divide the rested dough into small balls (about the size of a golf ball). Roll each ball into a thin circle, about 10 cm in diameter.
- Place a tablespoon of the cheese mixture in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the sambousek in batches until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
