Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Water - 120 ml
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Yeast - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 15 minutes.
  5. Preheat a non-stick skillet or saj over medium heat.
  6. Divide the dough into 2 equal portions and roll each portion into a thin circle, about 2-3 mm thick.
  7. Cook each bread in the skillet for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until lightly browned and cooked through.
  8. Remove from the skillet and keep warm under a towel until serving.
