Ingredients

  • Pizza dough - 250 grams
  • Red bell pepper - 1 large
  • Yellow bell pepper - 1 large
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Za'atar spice - 1 teaspoon
  • Feta cheese - 100 grams, crumbled
  • Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
  • Fresh basil leaves - a handful
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  2. Slice the red and yellow bell peppers into thin strips.
  3. In a bowl, toss the sliced peppers with olive oil, minced garlic, za'atar, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Spread the seasoned peppers on a baking sheet and roast for 15 minutes until tender and slightly charred.
  5. While the peppers are roasting, roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  6. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Spread a thin layer of olive oil over the dough, then sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese evenly on top.
  8. Once the peppers are done roasting, distribute them evenly over the cheese on the pizza.
  9. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and crumbled feta cheese.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  11. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.
