  • Yogurt - 100 grams
  • Shawarma spice mix - 2 tablespoons
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Chicken broth - 300 ml
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Fresh parsley - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the chicken breast with yogurt, shawarma spice mix, salt, and black pepper. Marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  5. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside. In the same pan, add the basmati rice, stirring for 2-3 minutes to toast the rice slightly.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until the rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed.
