- Allspice - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps
- Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened and translucent.

- Remove from heat and let the dish sit covered for an additional 5 minutes.
