- Short-grain rice - 50 grams
- Milk - 500 milliliters
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Cornstarch - 15 grams
- Rose water - 1 tablespoon
- Orange blossom water - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - a pinch
- Chopped pistachios - 20 grams
- Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- Rinse the short-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for about 30 minutes.
- In a pot, combine the soaked rice with 500 milliliters of milk and a pinch of salt. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with a few tablespoons of cold milk until dissolved, then add this mixture to the pot.
- Stir in the sugar, rose water, and orange blossom water, and continue to cook for another 5-10 minutes until the mixture thickens to a creamy consistency.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before transferring to serving bowls.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Before serving, garnish with chopped pistachios and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
