Ingredients

  • Rice - 100 grams
  • Milk - 500 milliliters
  • Sugar - 50 grams
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Orange blossom water - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Ground cinnamon - for garnish
  • Chopped pistachios - for garnish

Steps

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, milk, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring frequently until the rice is tender.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with a few tablespoons of water until smooth, then add it to the rice mixture. Stir well to combine.
  5. Continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes until the pudding thickens, stirring constantly.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the orange blossom water.
  7. Pour the pudding into serving bowls and let it cool slightly.
  8. Refrigerate if you prefer it chilled, or serve warm, garnished with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon and chopped pistachios.
