Ingredients

  • Ground beef (halal) - 300g
  • Pomegranate molasses - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic cloves, minced - 2
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Sliced cucumbers - 1/2 cup
  • Sliced tomatoes - 1/2 cup
  • Tahini sauce - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the beef mixture into two equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, brush each patty with pomegranate molasses to glaze them.
  5. While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns in another skillet or under the broiler until golden.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing the glazed patty on the bottom half of each bun, followed by sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, and a drizzle of tahini sauce.
  7. Top with chopped parsley and close the burger with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately.
