- Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
- Zaatar spice blend - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Parmesan cheese (grated) - 30 grams (optional)
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and add it directly to the skillet with the garlic oil.
- Add the zaatar spice blend, lemon juice, and reserved pasta water to the skillet. Toss everything together gently until the pasta is well coated.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on low heat to combine the flavors.
- Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. If desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top before serving.
