- Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
- Canned tomatoes (crushed) - 400 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 500 milliliters
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional) - for serving
Steps
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato paste, canned tomatoes, ground cumin, ground coriander, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Pour in the water, bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Allow to cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
- Once the sauce is ready, toss the cooked pasta into the skillet with the meat sauce, ensuring it is well coated.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
