  • Onion (finely chopped) - 1 medium (150 grams)
  • Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
  • Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Canned tomatoes (crushed) - 400 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Water - 500 milliliters
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional) - for serving

Steps

  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Stir in the tomato paste, canned tomatoes, ground cumin, ground coriander, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
  6. Pour in the water, bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Allow to cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
  7. Once the sauce is ready, toss the cooked pasta into the skillet with the meat sauce, ensuring it is well coated.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
