Ingredients
- Pasta (spaghetti or linguine) - 160 grams
- Olive oil - 4 tablespoons
- Garlic - 4 cloves, thinly sliced
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon (optional)
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until golden and fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic oil, tossing to coat. If the pasta seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and lemon juice (if using), then toss in the chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
