- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped

- Black pepper - to taste
- Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic oil and toss to combine.
- Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and reserved pasta water a little at a time until reaching desired consistency.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley and lemon zest if desired.
