- Whole grain pasta - 150 grams
- Ground beef (lean) - 200 grams
- Onion (finely chopped) - 1 medium (about 150 grams)
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Pine nuts - 30 grams
- Walnuts (chopped) - 30 grams
- Cinnamon powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Allspice - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 1 liter
Steps
- Bring 1 liter of water to a boil in a large pot. Add a pinch of salt and the whole grain pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute until fragrant, then add the ground beef.
- Season the beef with cinnamon, allspice, salt, and black pepper. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
- In a separate pan, toast the pine nuts and chopped walnuts over low heat for 3-4 minutes until golden and fragrant, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the beef mixture in the skillet, adding the toasted nuts, chopped parsley, and lemon juice. Toss everything together gently to combine.
- Drizzle with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve warm.
