Ingredients
- Pasta (spaghetti or linguine) - 150 grams
- Chickpeas (cooked or canned) - 200 grams
- Tahini - 60 ml
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Lemon juice - 30 ml
- Olive oil - 30 ml
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Pita bread - 1 large
- Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Water (for pasta) - 1 liter
Steps
- Bring a pot of water to a boil, then add a pinch of salt. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the cooked chickpeas to the pan along with cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and allow to cook for about 5 minutes, until heated through.
- In a bowl, whisk together tahini, lemon juice, and a little water to create a smooth sauce. Season with salt to taste.
- Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and return it to the pot. Pour the tahini sauce over the pasta and toss to coat evenly.
- Cut the pita bread into triangles and toast in a pan or oven until crispy.
- To serve, place the tahini-coated pasta on plates, top with the spiced chickpeas, and garnish with crispy pita triangles and chopped parsley.
