- All-purpose flour - 200g
- Warm water - 120ml
- Active dry yeast - 5g
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Mushrooms (sliced) - 150g
- Onion (finely chopped) - 1 small
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Zaatar spice - 1 tablespoon
- Tomato sauce - 100g
- Mozzarella cheese (shredded) - 100g
- Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a small bowl, mix warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
- In a skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
- Add sliced mushrooms and sauté until they are soft and any moisture has evaporated, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in zaatar spice and season with black pepper.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle the sautéed mushrooms and onion mixture on top, followed by the shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, slice, and serve warm.
