Ingredients

  • Roasted red peppers - 200 grams
  • Walnuts - 100 grams
  • Breadcrumbs - 50 grams
  • Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Pomegranate molasses - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons (chopped)
  • Whole grain bread - 4 slices

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Place the walnuts on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for about 10 minutes until golden and fragrant.
  3. In a food processor, combine the roasted red peppers, walnuts, breadcrumbs, garlic, ground cumin, pomegranate molasses, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Blend until smooth, then drizzle in the olive oil while the processor is running until well combined.
  5. Transfer the Muhammara to a bowl and stir in the chopped parsley.
  6. Toast the whole grain bread slices until golden brown.
  7. Serve the Muhammara with the warm toasted bread for dipping.
