Ingredients

  • Roasted red bell peppers - 150 grams
  • Walnuts - 50 grams
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Bread crumbs - 2 tablespoons
  • Pomegranate molasses - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Smoked paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Fresh parsley - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Roast the red bell peppers on a baking sheet for about 15 minutes, until the skin is blistered and charred.
  3. Remove the peppers from the oven and let them cool slightly before peeling off the skin and removing the seeds.
  4. In a food processor, combine the roasted red peppers, walnuts, minced garlic, olive oil, bread crumbs, pomegranate molasses, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as necessary to ensure everything is well combined.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  7. Transfer the Muhammara to a serving bowl and garnish with fresh parsley.
  8. Serve with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or as a spread on toast.
