- Chicken breast - 300 grams
- Yogurt - 100 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Rosewater - 1 tablespoon
- Milk - 500 ml
- Cornstarch - 40 grams
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Pistachios - 30 grams, chopped
- Mint leaves - for garnish
Steps
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- While the chicken marinates, prepare the mouhalabieh. In a saucepan, combine milk, sugar, and cornstarch. Stir well over medium heat until the mixture thickens.
- Once thickened, remove from heat and stir in rosewater. Pour the mixture into serving bowls and refrigerate until set, about 15-20 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the marinated chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and no longer pink in the center.
- Once cooked, slice the chicken and serve it over the chilled mouhalabieh. Garnish with chopped pistachios and mint leaves.
